Shajib passed away peacefully at 10.15pm on January 8, 2012.
We are told on the night of January 8, 2102 Shajib had complained of feeling weak, a pain in the chest, head and the left side of the body. When his sister came to his bedside at about 10pm he was conscious but about 15 minutes thereafter he had a long breadth after which his body went lifeless.
A funeral was held for him according to Muslim rites.
A few months prior to his passing away he had undergone a blood transfusion. We had planned to send him to India for the operation in March 2012. There was considerable delay in obtaining his passport and that of his brother Khijir who was to accompany him. The passports took almost two months despite our paying several bribes to various parties. At the time of his passing away we had yet to obtain his Indian visa.
Shajib's family takes this opportunity to thank you, all of you, for your contributions towards his operation, the constant inquiries on his condition, and the good wishes, that cheered him on during his last few months. There is no word fit enough to describe the kindness and love of the many wonderful hearts that rallied to the cause to give him back his life. May he enjoy eternal peace and happiness
Arrangements are being made to return back any unused funds in our possession once the account is finalized, that is after deducting expenses incurred for some treatment Shajib under went during the last few months and the costs involved in obtaining the passports. Some monies are still lying in the accounts at Paypal and Standard Chartered Bank Dhaka.
Finally, I must apologize for the delay in getting this message across to you, the blame for which lies with me entirely.
Thank you once again.
